Basketball Game Preview: Rappahannock County vs. Madison County Mountaineers

Rappahannock County hasn't had much luck against Madison County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. Rappahannock County will head out to challenge the Madison County Mountaineers at 7:30 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Last Friday, Rappahannock County ended up a good deal behind Luray and lost 52-35. While losing is never fun, Rappahannock County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 282nd, while Luray is ranked 119th).

Meanwhile, Madison County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. The contest between them and Clarke County didn't end well, with Madison County falling 53-37.

Rappahannock County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Madison County, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.

Rappahannock County ended up a good deal behind Madison County when the teams last played back in February of 2024, losing 61-45. Thankfully for Rappahannock County, Billy Acton (who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 13 boards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
