Baseball Game Preview: Caldwell Academy Eagles vs. Ballantyne Ridge Wolves

The Caldwell Academy Eagles will face off against the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Caldwell Academy turned things around against Independence on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out the Patriots 9-8.

Will Ford spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits.

On the hitting side, Brett Bullins was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Neal Swindell, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, Ballantyne Ridge can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Tuesday. They skirted past Cannon 6-4.

Ballantyne Ridge's victory bumped their record up to 6-13. As for Caldwell Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-11.
