The Snook Christian Academy Eagles will face off against the Aletheia Christian Academy Lions at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Snook Christian Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.5 runs per game this season.
Snook Christian Academy will face Aletheia Christian Academy after dropping another heartbreaker against Lighthouse Private Christian Academy on Thursday, which marked the second time in a row the team's come within 2.1 of beating them. The Eagles lost 14-2 to the Stingrays. The loss continues a trend for the Eagles in their meetings with the Stingrays: they've now lost nine in a row.
Colton Givens made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Aletheia Christian Academy). They blew past Laurel Hill 27-4 on Tuesday. The victory was familiar territory for the Lions, who have now won four contests in a row.
Noah Wheeler made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run.
In other batting news, Aletheia Christian Academy got a massive performance out of Tanner Brock, who scored four runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those four runs gave Brock a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brady Carlson, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-3.
Aletheia Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Laurel Hill only managed five hits.
Aletheia Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Snook Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-8.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Snook Christian Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Aletheia Christian Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Everything went Snook Christian Academy's way against Aletheia Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in March of 2023, as Snook Christian Academy made off with an 8-1 victory.
