Softball Recap: Whittier Comes Up Short

Whittier was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Sonora Raiders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Cardinals of the 5-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2015.

Whittier's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Sonora, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Whittier will challenge Downey at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Downey's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Whittier's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Sonora, they will head out to challenge Brea Olinda at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
