Basketball Recap: Middle Park Snaps Five-Game Streak of Wins at Home

Middle Park entered their match against Fort Lupton on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Middle Park Panthers lost to the Fort Lupton Bluedevils at home by a 55-40 margin. The contest marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Middle Park still got an impressive performance from Joey Gagnon, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds. Middle Park is 7-1 when Gagnon posts ten or more boards, but 1-2 otherwise. Vinny Scaturro was another key player, putting up no points in addition to five assists, five rebounds, and five steals.

Fort Lupton's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Javon Gonzales, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 boards. Gonzales is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Isaiah Garcia, who posted 12 points along with five rebounds and five steals.

Middle Park's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 8-3. As for Fort Lupton, their win was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-4.

Middle Park didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Jefferson on the 23rd. As for Fort Lupton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, an 84-52 win against Arvada on the 23rd.
