Softball Recap: Shadle Park Highlanders vs. Ridgeline Falcons
Shadle Park's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Ridgeline Falcons with a sharp 16-3 win. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Highlanders as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
McKenzie Duncan made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits. Duncan was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Madi Keon was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Ava Edgar, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Shadle Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ridgeline only posted an OBP of .348.
Shadle Park's record now sits at 5-7. As for Ridgeline, their record is now 7-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shadle Park will head out to face off against University at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Ridgeline, they will venture away from home to square off against Mt. Spokane at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will need to watch out since the Wildcats have now posted at least ten runs in their last seven matchups.
