Softball Recap: Canton's Win on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Canton walked away with it. They came out on top against the Spring Hill Panthers by a score of 10-7 on Friday. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Rylee Busby spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Lily Cervantes and Kara Pride did most of the damage at the plate: Cervantes went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple, while Pride went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Bailey Koonce was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Canton hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spring Hill struck out nine times.

Canton's record now sits at 20-6-2. As for Spring Hill, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 17-15-1.

As of now, neither Canton nor the Panthers have any future games scheduled.
