Baseball Recap: Stewarts Creek Comes Up Short

Stewarts Creek was the 8-0 winner over Cookeville when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Red Hawks fell just short of the Cavaliers by a score of 5-4 on Tuesday. The Red Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ayden Jackson and Chase Fernandez did some serious damage despite the final result: Jackson went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Fernandez went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Jackson has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played.

Stewarts Creek's loss dropped their record down to 18-15. As for Cookeville, they pushed their record up to 19-6 with the victory, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.

Stewarts Creek wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 7-0 win against Cane Ridge on the 24th. As for Cookeville, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-8 defeat against Rossview on the 26th.
