Basketball Recap: Fort Lauderdale Flying L's vs. Boyd Anderson Cobras
With a playoff game on the line, the Fort Lauderdale Flying L rose to the challenge on Monday. They blew past the Cobras, posting a 51-22 win on the road. Fort Lauderdale has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matchups by 20 points or more this season.
Fort Lauderdale got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Azaziah Evans-Blake out in front who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Maranda Byrnes, who scored 12 points.
The victory makes it two in a row for Fort Lauderdale and bumps their season record up to 8-10. As for Boyd Anderson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-18 record this season.
Fort Lauderdale will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the Raiders on February 7th. St. Thomas Aquinas presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Flying L's in Florida (the Raiders are ranked 12th, while the Flying L's are ranked 484th). Boyd Anderson does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
