Nelson County proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by five) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Dan River Wildcats. The victory was nothing new for Nelson County as they're now sitting on six straight.

Nathan Manthey and Liam Winsheimer scored all three of Nelson County's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 27 goals.

Nelson County's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-0-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 16 goals over those three games. As for Dan River, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.
