Basketball Recap: Lamiyah Hogans Key Part of Team Effort in Storm Win

With a playoff win on the line, San Jose Prep rose to the challenge on Tuesday. They came out on top against The First Academy Royals by a score of 54-46. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Storm.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead San Jose Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lamiyah Hogans, who went 8-for-10 to rack up 25 points and six rebounds. What's more, Hogans also posted a 60% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2023. Jazlynn Curtis was another key player, going 5-for-8 on her way to 13 points in addition to seven boards and five assists.

San Jose Prep's win bumped their record up to 15-9. As for The First Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-5.

Looking ahead, San Jose Prep will face off against Providence School at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Providence School will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something San Jose Prep surely won't give up without a fight. The First Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
