Basketball Recap: Hicks' Undefeated Season over After Three Games

If Hicks was riding high fresh off their 69-35 takedown of Oak Hill on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Pirates took a 46-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Anacoco Indians on Saturday. The Pirates were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Indians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February.

Anacoco's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Landon Tinsley, who posted nine points and eight boards. Tinsley is also crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. Caleb Taylor was another key player, putting up eight points and four steals.

Having lost for the first time this season, Hicks fell to 2-1. As for Anacoco, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hicks will venture away from home to challenge Plainview at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Anacoco, they are headed away from home for the first time to face off against Negreet at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
