Basketball Recap: Augusta Christian Comes Up Short

After soaring to 57 points the game before, Augusta Christian was a bit more limited in their match on Monday. They lost 38-17 to the West Ashley Wildcats.

When it comes to explaining why Augusta Christian lost, don't look at Makenna Ellis. Despite the final result, she posted nine points.

West Ashley's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ella Crowe led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and 19 rebounds. Crowe is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last five games she's played. Emma Elliott was another key player, putting up 13 points and six steals.

Augusta Christian now has a losing record at 7-8. As for West Ashley, the victory got them back to even at 6-6.

Augusta Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 69-45 win against Alleluia Community on the 3rd. As for West Ashley, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the West Ashley Wildcats face off against the North Charleston Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on January 6th.
