Game recap

ROCKINGHAM, N.C. - Leading by 37 points entering the fourth quarter didn't stop Richmond (Rockingham, N.C.) from scoring, as it added 13 points in the final quarter on the way to a 50-0 victory over Purnell Swett (Pembroke, N.C.) on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a safety in the first quarter, the Raiders were up 30-0 at the half.

Richmond grew its lead to 37 points entering the fourth quarter. RHS's lone score in the quarter came on a rushing touchdown.

Brent Flowers and Raheem Bowden teamed up to form a great passing pair. Bowden caught three touchdowns and Flowers threw three. Bowden has now caught three touchdowns this season, while Flowers has thrown nine.

The Rockingham school has had a tough season, allowing 30.3 points per game. However, Richmond's defense stepped up, holding the Rams well below their season average of 17.6 points per game.

The win brought Richmond's winning streak to three games.

Richmond (7-1) will play a 4A Conference 16 game against Lumberton next week, while Purnell Swett (2-6) will take on Pinecrest also in a 4A Conference 16 game.
