Baseball Game Preview: Eugene Eagles vs. Pilot Grove Tigers

The Eugene Eagles will head out to challenge the Pilot Grove Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Tuesday, Eugene got the win against Tipton by a conclusive 12-2. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Cardinals: they've now won four in a row.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Pilot Grove faced off against Northeast on Tuesday. The Tigers put the hurt on the Bearcats with a sharp 11-1 victory. While the Tigers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 1-17), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Eugene's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Pilot Grove, their victory bumped their record up to 10-3.

Eugene got the 'W' when the teams last played back in April of 2025 against Pilot Grove by a conclusive 15-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
