Baseball Recap: Winfield Takes a Loss

Fort Zumwalt North hit Winfield with a four-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors fell 5-2 to the Panthers. The Warriors were not able to make up for their loss to the Panthers from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Winfield saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Colin Morse, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that Morse has hit this season. Warren Conrad was another, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.

Winfield has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. As for Fort Zumwalt North, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-11.

Winfield didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-2 defeat against Holt on the 13th. As for Fort Zumwalt North, they will square off against St. Charles at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
