Softball Recap: Mason County Central Comes Up Short

Mason County Central was the 20-9 winner over Hesperia when they last played one another back in April of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Spartans took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers on Tuesday. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ellen Haner made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Ellie Bendele also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Mason County Central's defeat dropped their record down to 3-7. As for Hesperia, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-10.

While Mason County Central had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
