Baseball Recap: Leland Takes a Loss

If Leland was feeling good fresh off their 10-0 takedown of Oak Grove last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Chargers took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Leigh Longhorns on Wednesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Caden Canter made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Leland has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Leigh, the win was the tenth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Longhorns beat Leland by a score of 11-1 on Friday.
