The Decatur Red Raiders will face off against the Cullman Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
Last Thursday, Decatur came up short against Mae Jemison and fell 28-21.
Decatur wouldn't let Mae Jemison keep a hold of the ball as they managed to force two fumbles. Cayden Oliver was the leader in that area as all came courtesy of his dominant performance. He is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in the last nine games he's played dating back to last season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Cullman). They claimed a resounding 61-6 win over Columbia at home. Considering the Bearcats have won three matches by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Decatur's loss dropped their record down to 2-6. As for Cullman, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
Decatur came up short against Cullman in their previous meeting back in September of 2023, falling 21-14. Can Decatur avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
