Vernon fought the good fight in their overtime contest against Henrietta on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell 81-73 to the Henrietta Bearcats. One positive for the Lions, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Vernon moved to 11-4 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak. As for Henrietta, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vernon will challenge Bowie at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Henrietta, they will venture away from home to face off against Memorial at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
