Orland and Gridley are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2017, but not for long. The Trojans will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Orland comes in on six and Gridley on 12.

Orland is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They snuck past Lassen with a 20-16 victory.

Orland had a senior duo take command as Manny Martin gained 112 total yards and two touchdowns and Luke Schager rushed for 152 yards and one TD. Martin showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 67 yards.

Meanwhile, while Gridley put up some points on Friday, the same can't be said for Pierce. The Bulldogs were the clear victors by a 22-0 margin over the Bears. The Bulldogs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by 20 points or more this season.

Orland better keep an eye on Eli Punzo. He was instrumental in Gridley's win, rushing for 151 yards and three scores on only 13 carries. With that strong performance, Punzo is now averaging an impressive 100.6 rushing yards per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Duncan, who rushed for 129 yards on only 12 carries.

Gridley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 385 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 178 rushing yards in 18 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Gridley didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Michael Sandoval and Rafael Franco.

Gridley's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Orland, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.

Saturday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Orland has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 335 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Gridley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 284.3 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.

Orland couldn't quite finish off Gridley in their previous matchup back in October and fell 29-26. Can the Trojans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
