Basketball Recap: Fayette Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when Fayette faced off against Marshall on Thursday. The Fayette Falcons fell 66-57 to the Marshall Owls. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Marshall was led to victory by Deacon Arends and Chase Thompson. Arends went 7 for 9 en route to 16 points in addition to six steals and five assists, while Thompson went 7 of 12 on his way to 21 points. Thompson's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Kane Viquesney also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Fayette's defeat dropped their record down to 1-14. As for Marshall, their record is now 8-9.

Fayette has already played their next matchup (against Linn), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Marshall has already played their next contest, a 67-64 loss against Fulton on the 1st.
