Baseball Game Preview: Lebanon Tigers vs. Southmont Mounties

For the second straight game, Lebanon will face off against Southmont. The Tigers will face off against the Mounties at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

While Lebanon's victory against Southmont wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers had just enough and edged out the Mounties 4-2. The win was some much needed relief for the Tigers as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Luke Dunshee spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up eight Ks. He is becoming a predictor of Lebanon's success: when he allows at most one earned run the team is 2-1 (and 1-17 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, Lebanon's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Elijah Gibboney, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another was Brooks Johnson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.

Lebanon hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least two batters in three consecutive matches.

Lebanon's win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-9 and their overall record up to 3-18. As for Southmont, they dropped their record down to 3-14 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road.
