Basketball Recap: Hellgate's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Hellgate had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. They blew past the Big Sky Eagles 63-43. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Knights have posted since February 29, 2024.

Leading Hellgate to victory were Easton Sant and Zane Gillhouse. Sant went 7 for 11 on his way to 18 points, while Gillhouse went 7 of 11 en route to 15 points. Sant's afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Spencer Wayland, who posted eight points.

Hellgate smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in five consecutive matches.

Hellgate's record is now 5-1. As for Big Sky, their loss dropped their record down to 4-2.

Hellgate will welcome Capital at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Big Sky, they will venture away from home to challenge Glacier at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
