Softball Recap: Mount Mercy Academy Wins Going Away Against Charter School for Applied Tech

Mount Mercy Academy got themselves on the board against Charter School for Applied Tech on Wednesday, but Charter School for Applied Tech never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 20-0 margin over the Eagles. The win continues a trend for the Magic in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won three in a row.

Taylor Jahn was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than 11 strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two RBI and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Kayla Davis was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Laila Golda, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Mount Mercy Academy pushed their record up to 3-0 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Magic beat Charter School for Applied Tech by a score of 9-7 later that day.
