Volleyball Recap: Haines City Takes a Loss

Haines City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Winter Haven Blue Devils. The Hornets were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Blue Devils earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Haines City took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-22, 21-25, 25-21, 15-11.

Haines City's defeat dropped their record down to 5-17. As for Winter Haven, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-11.

Looking ahead, Haines City will challenge Auburndale at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bloodhounds will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something the Hornets surely won't give up without a fight. As for Winter Haven, they will head out to square off against Bartow at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
