Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Carroll). They put the hurt on the Russell County Warriors with a sharp 21-7 win on Wednesday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Eagles needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

Natalie Draper was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over 5.2 innings pitched. Draper was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Nevaeh Landrum and Makynzye Bonner did most of the damage at the plate: Landrum scored four runs and stole three bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Bonner went 4-for-6 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those three stolen bases gave Landrum a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Sarabeth Henry, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

Carroll always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .596. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Russell County only posted an OBP of .433.

Carroll's victory bumped their record up to 11-8-1. As for Russell County, they dropped their record down to 1-15 with the loss, which was their tenth straight at home.

Coming up, Carroll will head out to challenge Eufaula at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Russell County, they will head out on the road to face off against Loachapoka at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
