Baseball Recap: St. Charles vs. Lackey Chargers
St. Charles had to endure a five-game losing streak dating back to last season, but that streak is no more. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Lackey Chargers a 2-0 shutout on Thursday. The victory was just what St. Charles needed coming off of a 20-5 loss in their prior match.
St. Charles' win was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Travis Parker, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances.
The victory got St. Charles back to even at 1-1.
St. Charles will head out on the road to challenge Leonardtown at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lackey, they will be playing at home against Northern at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
