Baseball Recap: Northwood Wins Going Away Against Wawasee

NorthWood barely beat Wawasee the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers blew past the Warriors 10-0 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Panthers, who have now won four matches by nine runs or more so far this season.

Nathan Shrock was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. Ryder Ransberger was another key player, earning one run and two stolen bases.

NorthWood always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .593. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wawasee only posted an OBP of .105.

The victory made it two in a row for NorthWood and bumps their season record up to 6-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Wawasee, they are on an eight-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-7.

NorthWood wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-2 victory against New Prairie on the 26th. As for Wawasee, they will take on Northridge at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Warriors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Raiders have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
