Volleyball Recap: Beardstown Takes a Loss

Beardstown lost against Routt Catholic back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Tigers took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rockets.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-14.

Laetitia Kanda paced Beardstown's offense, picking up six kills. Kanda got some help from Ola Quigley and her 14 assists. Kanda was also a major player on defense: she and Kylynn Maltby shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with two each.

Beardstown dropped their record down to 3-19 with the defeat, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Routt Catholic, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-13 record this season.

Beardstown wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Havana on the 11th. As for Routt Catholic, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Pleasant Plains on the 10th.
