Softball Game Preview: Boyertown Bears vs. Owen J. Roberts Wildcats

The Boyertown Bears will head out to square off against the Owen J. Roberts Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The last three games Boyertown has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Boyertown fought the good fight in their extra-innings match against Wilson on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 7-6.

Boyertown saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyra Neiswender, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that Neiswender snagged this season. Another was Hailey Schildt, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Meanwhile, Owen J. Roberts never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Upper Perkiomen with a sharp 10-0 victory. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by ten runs or more this season.

Jacqueline Skonieczny was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2. Kayla Shea was another key player, scoring a run.

Boyertown's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Owen J. Roberts, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 5-3.

Everything went Boyertown's way against Owen J. Roberts when the teams last played back in May of 2023, as Boyertown made off with a 16-3 victory. Will the Bears repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
