Basketball Recap: Spring Creek Comes Up Short

Spring Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 51-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ridgeline Riverhawks.

Despite the defeat, Spring Creek saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Scott Bylund went 6 for 10 on his way to 15 points. The dominant performance also gave Bylund a new career-high in blocks (two). Snowdon Bear Williams was another key player, putting up eight points.

Spring Creek's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Ridgeline, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.

Spring Creek will take on Virgin Valley in a tournament on Thursday. Ridgeline and Clearfield will round out the year against one another at at 2:30 p.m. on December 28th. Ridgeline is facing Clearfield at the right time seeing as Clearfield is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
