Softball Recap: George Jenkins Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

George Jenkins entered their tilt with Lakeland Christian on Thursday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They walked away with a 7-3 win over the Vikings.

Layla Hinojosa looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Riley Pate, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Alexa Kennedy was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI.

George Jenkins hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lakeland Christian struck out eight times.

George Jenkins' victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-6. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Lakeland Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-5.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. George Jenkins will host Lake Region at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
