Mountain Vista has gone 7-2 against Douglas County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Mountain Vista Golden Eagles will host the Douglas County Huskies at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in Mountain Vista's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.
Mountain Vista is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Highlands Ranch: they outscored them in every quarter. Mountain Vista put the hurt on Highlands Ranch with a sharp 78-52 victory on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 25 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Cal Baskind, who went 11 for 21 en route to 27 points and six steals. The contest was his fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Oliver Junker, who went 6 of 8 on his way to 15 points and five boards.
Mountain Vista smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Highlands Ranch only pulled down nine offensive boards.
Meanwhile, Douglas County played a tough matchup on Wednesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 73-45 loss at the hands of Chaparral. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 150th, while the Wolverines are ranked fourth).
Mountain Vista will have to contain Roman Saiz as he made an impact in Douglas County's last game. He posted seven points in addition to five assists and three steals. The dominant performance gave Saiz a new career-high in assists. Henry Shoemaker was another key player, putting up seven points.
Mountain Vista has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 36.4 points. As for Douglas County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record this season.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's match: Mountain Vista has been dynamite from deep this season, having made 38.7% of their three-pointers per game. It's a different story for Douglas County, though, as they've only made 27% of their threes this season. Given Mountain Vista's sizable advantage in that area, Douglas County will need to find a way to close that gap.
Mountain Vista didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Douglas County in their previous meeting back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 75-71 win.
