Aitkin hadn't done well against Hinckley-Finlayson recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Gobblers' pitchers stepped up to hand the Jaguars an 8-0 shutout. Considering the Gobblers have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Aitkin now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Hinckley-Finlayson, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

Aitkin will challenge East Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Hinckley-Finlayson, they will square off against Mille Lacs co-op [Isle/Onamia] at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
