Basketball Recap: LaVergne Comes Up Short

LaVergne was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 46-21 to the Cookeville Cavaliers. While losing is never fun, the Wolverines can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 287th, while the Cavaliers are ranked 11th).

Macy Hudson continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Cookeville, dropping a double-double on ten points and 14 boards. Those 14 rebounds gave Hudson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Gillies, who posted 11 points.

LaVergne's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Cookeville, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-3.

LaVergne has already played their next match (against Stewarts Creek), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Cookeville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 53-45 victory against Lebanon on the 24th.
