Gatlinburg-Pittman gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Seymour Eagles 44-7. The Highlanders haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Gatlinburg-Pittman's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Tyson Sutton, who threw for 309 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 12.4 yards per attempt. What's more, Sutton racked up 119.8 passer rating, the most he's had since back in August of 2024. 123 of Sutton's passing yards were hauled in by Jackson Savarese, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Looking ahead, Gatlinburg-Pittman will take on Cocke County at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Seymour, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pigeon Forge at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
