Basketball Game Preview: Andover Trojans vs. Arkansas City Bulldogs

The Andover Trojans will host the Arkansas City Bulldogs at 6:00 p.m. Andover knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six games -- so hopefully Arkansas City likes a good challenge.

Andover's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Bella Bouddhara, who went 9-for-13 en route to 20 points and three steals, and Aliyah Green, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 13 rebounds. Bouddhara's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points. Another player making a difference was Katie Evans, who posted eight points.

Meanwhile, Arkansas City won against Newton on Tuesday with 46 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Arkansas City took down Salina Central 46-31. Given the Bulldogs' advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 39th, while the Mustangs are ranked 170th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Andover's victory bumped their record up to 15-1. As for Arkansas City, their win bumped their record up to an identical 15-1.

Everything came up roses for Andover against Arkansas City in their previous meeting back in January, as the team secured a 69-41 victory. In that game, Andover amassed a halftime lead of 38-17, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Tuesday.
