It was a good run, but Grosse Pointe South unfortunately witnessed the end of their 16-game winning streak on Monday. They fell just short of the Anchor Bay Tars by a score of 1-0. The game marked the first time this year in which the Blue Devils were not able to get on the board.

Jack Danielewicz spent all 7.1 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on five hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Grosse Pointe South saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jack Lupo, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Lupo has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Grosse Pointe South's loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 18-2. As for Anchor Bay, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
