Volleyball Recap: Standley Lake Starts Season with Loss at Home + How To Watch

Standley Lake unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell just short of the Lakewood Tigers by a score of 3-2 on Thursday. The Gators were not able to make up for their loss to the Tigers from their previous meeting back in August of 2024.

Standley Lake was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Lakewood work for it, especially in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 31-29, 21-25, 25-19, 15-12.

Genevieve Robertson paced Standley Lake's offense, picking up 13 kills. Robertson got some help from Alivia Lambrecht-Gardner and her 20 assists. Finally, Roma Gratny kept Standley Lake's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.

Standley Lake will venture away from home to challenge Skyview at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Lakewood, they will square off against Horizon at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
