Greenbrier East faced Independence in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Spartans walked away with a 2-0 win over the Patriots. The victory was familiar territory for the Spartans, who have now won five contests in a row.

Greenbrier East easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-13.

Greenbrier East's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Independence, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.
