Basketball Game Preview: Weiss Wolves vs. Pflugerville Connally Cougars

The Weiss Wolves will square off against the Pflugerville Connally Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Weiss is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Pflugerville just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They came up short against the Panthers, falling 62-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Wolves have suffered since December 27, 2024.

Meanwhile, Pflugerville Connally was able to grind out a solid victory over Hendrickson on Friday, taking the game 53-46. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 226th, while the Hawks are ranked 659th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Pflugerville Connally has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Weiss, their loss dropped their record down to 13-18.

Weiss skirted past Pflugerville Connally 48-45 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Weiss repeat their success, or does Pflugerville Connally have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
