Softball Recap: Sports Leadership & Management Bulls vs. Moapa Valley Pirates
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Sports Leadership & Management had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They walked away with a 7-4 victory over the Moapa Valley Pirates. Seven seems to be a good number for the Bulls as the team scooped up a win with the same number of runs in their previous game.
Nicole Carrasco spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single walk in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Carmen Castro, who fired off two home runs, three RBI, and one double while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted two runs, the most she's had since back in May of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Naima Ralston, who went 4-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
