Recap: Seton Hall Prep Pirates vs. Bergen Catholic Crusaders
The Seton Hall Prep Pirates lost against the Bergen Catholic Crusaders back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Seton Hall Prep received a tough blow as they fell 59-45 to Bergen Catholic. While losing is never fun, Seton Hall Prep can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 192nd, while Bergen Catholic is ranked 11th).
Seton Hall Prep's loss came despite strong showings from Daniel Beazer and Gino Romano. Beazer scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals, while Romano scored 12 points. Another player making a difference was Alex Ante, who scored four points along with two steals.
Seton Hall Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Bergen Catholic, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Seton Hall Prep will be playing at home against Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Bergen Catholic won't have much time to rest: their next game is against St. Francis Prep at 4:30 p.m. on January 14th. One thing working in St. Francis Prep's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
