Softball Recap: Gunderson Grizzlies vs. Evergreen Valley Cougars        
        
		
            
 On Friday, Gunderson got themselves on the board against Evergreen Valley, but Evergreen Valley never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Evergreen Valley Cougars with a sharp  21-0 win. Gunderson might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won seven matches by seven  runs or more this season.
  Alanna Martinez Poklong was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   keeping things locked down with   no  earned runs or hits while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Martinez Poklong has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than five  strikeouts every time she's  pitched this season. Martinez Poklong was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances.
 In other batting news, Gunderson got a  massive  performance out of  Breanna Bartek, who  went 3-for-4 with five  RBI, three  runs,  and a  double. Another player making a difference was  Desirae Regalado, who  scored three  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all five of her plate appearances.
 The  victory  made it two in a row for Gunderson and  bumps their season record up to 7-3. As for Evergreen Valley, they  haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
 Both  squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gunderson will take on James Lick at 4:00  p.m.  on Wednesday. One thing working in Gunderson's favor is that they have posted big  run totals  in their last three contests. As for Evergreen Valley, they will play host again  on Monday to welcome Yerba Buena, where first pitch is scheduled  at 4:00  p.m. Yerba Buena is coming into the  matchup with four straight  losses on the road,  meaning Evergreen Valley will have to defend against a  team hungry for a  win.
