Lexington had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Hardin County as they made off with  a  14-2 victory. The result was nothing new for Lexington, who have now won 12 contests by eight  runs or more  so far this season.
 Ashlynn Utley looked comfortable as she  tossed four innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits.
 On the hitting side, Lexington got a  massive  performance out of  Carly Williams, who  scored three  runs and  stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Those  three  stolen bases gave  Williams a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Kk Simko, who  scored two  runs and  stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
 Lexington was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .500. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  batting average total in three consecutive  games.
Lexington's win was  their ninth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 24-9-2. Those  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Hardin County,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 7-7.
 Both  teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lexington will host Westview  at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. As for Hardin County, they will welcome Jackson North Side  at 5:00  p.m.  on Thursday. The Indians have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.75  runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of.
