Basketball Recap: Bethel Wildcats vs. Holdenville Wolverines
There's no place like home for the Bethel Wildcats, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Holdenville on Thursday and snuck past 55-53. The win was just what Bethel needed coming off of a 55-31 defeat in their prior match.
Several Wolverines players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Wyatt Seeley, who scored 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mike Piza, who scored 14 points.
Bethel's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-11. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points per game. As for Holdenville, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7.
Bethel will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Redskins at 7:30 p.m. McLoud presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Wildcats in Oklahoma (the Redskins are ranked 106th, while the Wildcats are ranked 249th). As for Holdenville, they will head out on the road to take on the Tigers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
