Baseball Game Preview: Chowchilla Tribe vs. Sierra Chieftains

For the second straight game, Chowchilla will face off against Sierra. The Tribe are taking a road trip to square off against the Chieftains at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Chowchilla is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.

Chowchilla's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Tuesday, when they got past Sierra's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Tribe blew past the Chieftains 11-1. The result was nothing new for the Tribe, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Chowchilla got a massive performance out of Davian Stephenson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The Tribe are 2-1 when Stephenson posts three or more hits, but 4-8 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Tristan Beardsley, who scored three runs while going 4-for-4.

Stephenson wasn't the only one making solid contact: Chowchilla kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

Chowchilla is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Sierra, their loss dropped their record down to 11-4.
