Softball Recap: Gunter Snags Sixth Win in Last Seven Games

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Gunter had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They never let the Hughes Springs Mustangs get on the board and left with a 6-0 victory. Considering the Tigers have won 21 games by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Rylee Dunn's shutout, as she gave up just three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Michelle Perez, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one run, and one double.

Gunter is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-10 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.9 runs over those games. As for Hughes Springs, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 27-5.

As of now, neither Gunter nor the Mustangs have any future games scheduled.
