Baseball Recap: St. Augustine Triumphs

After low-scoring totals in their previous three match, St. Augustine brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Patrick Henry Patriots a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. Considering the Saints' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Not much got past Jonny Haskett, who gave up just a hit and racked up six Ks to keep Patrick Henry off the board. Haskett has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Drake Konja, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in May of 2024. Anthony Tompkins was another key player, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

St. Augustine's victory bumped their record up to 13-7-1. As for Patrick Henry, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7-2.
